Maybe, but looking back I'm kind of glad that Danny boy didn't go with GW. Don't get me wrong the way the "process" went about was absolutley sickening.
GW was known for being ultra-conservative offensively:
"As the Bills' head coach, his team was known for highly conservative calls, especially on offense. He was the inspiration for
Gregg Easterbrook's designation of "the maroon zone" by constantly punting in opponent territory. Williams was 17-31 as the Bills' coach, and was fired after a 6-10 record in the
2003 season."
And given that he spent the last 4 years with Gibbs I doubt that any of that would have changed. On top of that his desire to have things go his way is a feast or famine type ordeal that can easily kill a team going through a rough patch, and given that the Redskins last two playoff trips occured by digging themselves out of a hole I can't help but worry.
An offensive minded coach will allow the Redskins to grow as an offense and given that we won't have to worry about 10 step drops with 5 WR's going out for a pass makes me excited about the future. Especially if Mooch is named HC.
On top of that Blache is no slouch and has proven himself to be an excellent coordinator during his time with the Bears so the Defense will be fine. Come to think of it as long as the Redskins have a decent D-Coordinator then the Defense will always be fine, or so it seems.
