Whether it's agents talking or other people close to those involved, there is definitely a degree of tampering out there that doesn't get enforced and really how can it be monitored?

This probably could have it's own thread but to a certain degree tampering is a good thing. Not full-out contract negotiation, but an "expression of interest" is just healthy business practice. It is how free markets can and do work. Besides, the way teams can jerk around players and coaches on a whim essentially dictates that the staff use whatever means they can to gain a competitive advantage against their employer IMO.
