Jack Kent Cooke had vast knowledge of how the professional sports world operated because he had previously owned sporting franchises', not in football but Hockey and Basketball.
Mr. Cooke was also more hands-on than many people realize. He came very close to firing Joe Gibbs at the beginning of his first tenure here, it's just that during that time, every little thing wasn't scrutinized and made public the way it is today.
