Colvin certainly isn't a bad player, but given those three options, I would answer as so.

1) Briggs
1a) No one
2) Colvin

It's not that Colvin would be a bad fit here, it's that forcing Marcus out the door after this year and replacing him with Colvin really doesn't accomplish anything.

And leaving them both together (beyond 2008) would be more of a mess since Colvin isn't that good in pass coverage, and you have to work in some youth with the 30+'s that are carrying the defense.

Colvin would be a decent fit, but he really doesn't improve our team top to bottom very much, and would presumably eat a lot of money.

Now if we could get him for 1/3 the price of Briggs, I'd be singing a different tune.
