If I'm not mistaken, Tech runs a ton of zone coverage and their corners are not asked to play much man. Corners coming out of that program have not had a whole of success, with the exception (maybe, but you could argue he is overrated) DeAngelo Hall. But Hall has elite athletic skills, which Brandon Flowers obviously does not possess. No thanks to Flowers, no thanks to Phillips, unless they drop down to the 2nd or 3rd (for Flowers) rounds.

You're right about most of it, VT does play a lot of zone, but they also have the boundary cb play tight man a lot at the line of scrimmage. Flowers is definitely a good cover 2 cb. He's a little small but he's very physical. No way I'm suggesting grabbing him w/our 1st, but he's a good value in the 2nd or 3rd. IF his 40 time & size really drops him that far, he's a steal in the 3rd.
Phillips is a great talent & interviews well, seems pretty bright & level headed. I just can't see using that pick on a safety given that we need depth at that position more than a starter. If he actually lasts that long to pick #21, it will be hard to pass him up though.
