I just read that article on Philips over from Extremeskins... it just makes me want him more
I know but we have other needs that combined with the best players available makes taking Kenny Phillips not very feasable. They've neglected the O-Line and the D-Line for to long and for the first time in a while they seem to have their eyes on some pretty good picks. Even Calias Campbell, who's still a pretty damn good football player.

Plus I can't believe I almost forgot. Vinny puts a premium on players that have experience with coaches currently on staff (John Palermo). If I had to pick today I'd say one way or another they'd find a way to make Campbell the pick. Of course maybe Calias has just become my flavor of the week considering I haven't been really high on him as of late.

Plus if Reed doesn't work out this year then I say that we can just take a safety next year when the class is bound to be a lot deeper, based on the fact that this class is so shallow. Plus the 1st 4 picks are probably going to be DL, WR, CB, and OL.

Also since this is a Calias Campbell thread heres some more video. When I watch this guy I realize how good he really is and at the same time I'm reminded how much I hate combine numbers. Personally I really like how he uses his hands to keep lineman off him, and he seems to be committed to defending the run. Of course this is a highlight tape so at some point I'd like to see something that shows both sides of the story, but I don't think Campbell is as bad as a lot of us have made him out to be as of late. Also love how Matt Ryan seems to make a lot of appearences in this video.

Heres an interview with the guy. Seems like a pretty laid back guy that will end up being a good locker room guy. Interviews near the end of the video.

While we're at it Phillip Merling highlights:
