I guess what I mean by "credit" is that post counts do have value to a certain extent. If they didn't, we wouldn't have them at all. I do think that your post count reflects your level of commitment to the board in general. It's a reflection that you care enough to engage others and contribute to the community as a whole.
To put it in very simple terms, this is an example of how I feel about the situation...
