We would have to pay old fragile players who are way past their prime loads of money and not be able to cut them. And it has a chain effect because we will have to restructure them again and again because we keep pushing the money back. The only way out of this in my mind is to build through the draft for a good 2 years, otherwise we will be stuck with players way past their prime, and paying them a kings ransom.

And like I said they are well aware of how moves made today impact the future. They keep a rolling 3 year projection. They know who will need to be restructured and/or released.
