You could go with a guard who could spell Kendall and his arthritic knees or Thomas when he has his annual season-ending injury. Or you could get a pass-rusher to complement Andre Carter and take pressure off an offensive unit whose line has those age and injury problems with only one back-up.

So the question is whether or not adding a third round pick is appropriate for a guarantee of attaining a pro-bowl caliber player with your first round pick.
