This is false. Obama was elected to the Senate in 2004, taking Peter Fitzgerald's seat. Those four years of course include the time he spent campaigning for president, as opposed to attending the Senate meetings.
I think you probably meant the Illinois State Senate, in which case, my only beef is acting like he had
control over anything.
