As in, he's been in the U.S. Senate for 4 years, and that term isn't over, but he's spent a lot of time campaigning
recently. Not all four years, obviously. But if the issue is inexperience, one year out of four spent on the campaign trail is significant. I don't claim to know what Obama's record of attending senate meetings in the last year is, but I can't imagine it's all that high.
I understand your argument though: Illinois Senate > Whatever experience Palin had. They're both inexperienced -- I'm not disagreeing with you there.
