There is not a chance in hell that Gibbs chooses players due to their religion. Gibbs never even asks players what religious views or backgrounds they have, never checks to see who goes to religious gatherings of the players and makes a specific point not to know these things. Gibbs always makes decisions based on who the best player is on the team to play, and obviously Brunell gives us the best chance to win.
The Doc Walker interview made it sound like Ramsey was making a lot of progress in learning the system, and that sounded encouraging. But there is a lot more to quarterbacking than learning the system. I think he really doesn't show them he has the necessary spark for them to hang their fortunes on.
They aren't coming out of retirement to put their fate in the hands of a young man who has not had much experience as a quarterback before coming to the NFL and who apparently still isn't showing spark and who makes too many mistakes when he does get in there.
