I'm not sure the press conference analogy works, because I believe the NFL requires it.
Obviously these people have a life outside of work. And who knows how Vinny schedules his day during the regular season? I can appreciate those who question whether this is the best use of his time though. According to Andy Polin and Steve Czaban on the Sports Reporters yesterday afternoon, they said that five other general managers across the NFL, including Bill Polian, do a radio or TV show of this nature.
All in all, given his track record in personnel management over the years, Vinny had to understand that doing something like this would be frowned upon. Generally speaking, I don't like the idea, but it's not something that will keep me awake at night.

As someone who has worked in radio, I can tell you that that every hour for an hour is somewhat accurate. Except this show is mainly about football which is what VC spends a good chunk of his time working on anyway. So I don't think it's that huge a deal.
