Yup. I know this might sound crazy, but I chalk up those stats to the absence of one Sean Taylor. Owens was absolutely terrified of Taylor.
Between 2004 and 2006, Owens racked up a mere 18 receptions for 165 yards and 2 TDs. That's an average of 4 receptions for 41 yards (10 yards per catch) and 1/2 a TD per game.
In TO's first game against the Sean Taylor-less Redskins, he racked up 8 receptions for 173 yards and 4 TDs.
In other words, in one game, TO managed to rack up more receiving yards and touchdowns against the Redskins than he had in the previous 3 years.
