EVERY team has busts and other draft picks and FA acquisitions that just don't pan out. The key is to minimize them and develop the young talent you have. To be able to do this, you first need stability in the front office and the coaching staff, which we have not had. We do now though!
Of course there are always "flukes" like Atlanta having success with a new coaching staff this year (so far), but if you look at the top teams, they all have stability up top...even if they have struggled recently...in addition to a group of core players. NE, Philly, Pittsburgh, NY Jets, Baltimore, etc. Yeah, they may have inserted newer people into important positions (like Roeth in Pitts and Boller in B-more) but their surrounding cast of coaches and players has been there to guide them along. Even Shotty's team is coming on in year 3!
We just have to be patient and have faith that Gibbs can build this team and bring the franchise back to the status it had when he left.
