iirc last season (maybe it was '06) JC threw a touchdown pass to Cooley after reading the D and calling the audible to that play - he later admitted he chose that audible because that was one play he could fully remember. As he gets more comfy and begins to master the Zorncoast offense he will be able to make better decisions when changing calls at the line. The truth is no one in the league calls their own plays anymore, not even the great Peyton Manning. The playcaller sends it in, the qb calls it in the huddle, and then the QB and line make adjustments based on what they see in the D if they need to. Even the best QBs have limited options (some more limited than others) when calling audibles, calls that are discussed in meetings prior to games and approved by the OC.
