As for his whole career as a Skin - you must be referring to 2005 when he literally carried the team into the playoffs on his legs.

Something missing? Every opponent that I have heard speak of him calls him one of the most complete backs in the league, compliments him on his ability & toughness, and speaks with almost awe about his vicious blocking.

CP is not, has not been and never will be an elusive back. He is power and
speed (yes, speed). He has been unable to use his speed much because the line cant create holes that let him get to the second level untouched and, with defenses keying on him, he rarely gets into a true "open field".

"Missing something"?? Yes, he is missing Adrian Peterson's line that would give him holes that allow him to get to the second level. He is missing a passing game that will shake the defense loose from keying on him.

If his performance has not been the "lone bright spot", it certainly has been a bright spot.
Well put.

Something that people overlook alot of the time is that Portis can put anybody on their ass when they slide past our broken down line. When a man who stands 5' 11'' and weighs 220 can put 300+lb defensive linemen or linebacker on his back consistantly and also hold the rank of a top rusher in the league - I think he doesn't have to worry much about job security.
