He's a defensive coach. A LB's coach moved to coach TE's which by the way I was not impressed with Seatles TE's.

Jim Lind originally joined the Seahawks on January 14, 1999. He enters his tenth year with the Seahawks and ninth coaching tight ends.

You aren't impressed with his work with rookie TE John Carlson?(NFL Stats: by Player Position) who finished the season with 55 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns which lead all rookie TEs in yards, receptions, touchdowns, and every other meaningful stat. Carlson is his 1st really talented TE but Lind has managed to get good production from other TEs like Itula Mili and Jerramy Stevens.

Many coaches have been on both sides of the ball, if you really think about it being a former linebackers coach would actually help when it comes to coaching TEs.
