Number 1: How many people would have gone and traded a 3rd round pick for a guy who just got benched for a rookie and give him an outrageous contract. It's not like we had to rush to jacksonville before people started throwing high draft picks at them.
Number 2: Remind me again, even after 7 turnovers, how close we were to winning that game because the offense MOVED THE CHAINS!
Number 3: I expect mistakes in a new system from time to time. Turnovers and moving the ball is much better than 3 and outs. At least your defense has a fighting chance if they get to take their helmets off.
Number 4: Countless injuries eh? Until last game the countless injuries added up to 1. Wow. Now we have 2. I can't blame the loss of one man on the offensive line as the reason to why our offense can't score a first down occassionally.
Number 5: I agree completely. It takes time to iron things out. However we don't seem to be improving as the year goes on.
Gibbs playcalling has been horrible. All pass or all run. I remember hearing about a billion times this offseason "FINALLY WE'LL SEE SOME BALANCE IN THIS OFFENSE" my question is where's that balance.
Gibbs brought in Williams, I admitted that was an excellent move. I wanted Arizona's ex-HC for D coordinator, and Gibbs certainly made the right decesion.
He restored protection for the QB partially because the QB takes 3 snaps and get's to sit down. We don't have the options to go to this year because we keep so many guys in. We need more protection, but perhaps not go max-protect. I agree having starters on the O line will help because backs and TEs wont have to help double as often.
Unity? You don't think the defense hates this right now? That they are losing attention (and ranking) because our horrible offense can't do a fraction of their job. I'm guessing there are more divides than we see within the team. He has brought a sense of refreshment and optimism. But tell me, what coach comes to a new team and doesn't? Will this team be sick of him within two years?
