Couldn't disagree more w/ this. For one thing it ignores logic: Jason has improved against remarkable odds. From '07 to '08 the entire offensive system changed, and the o-line regressed significantly as evidenced in almost twice the number of sacks on Jason (especially considering he began to use his feet and make defenders miss this season it's pretty telling how much more he was sacked - the o-line was probably the worst in football by week 8). Through all that he markedly improved on fumbles, interceptions, footwork and decision-making. He is also tough as nails and becoming more of a threat w/ his legs.

... I don't mind defending Jason over and over again cause it just sharpens my thoughts on why he's our QB. Said it before and i'll say it again here: JC will be money in '09 if the FO/coaches do their job to upgrade the line. Drafting a franchise tackle is the first step and this appears to be a great year for them. Opening up competition on the interior between Jansen, Rinehart and Thomas is also important and if all else fails grab a stop-gap guy in FA if Jansen can't transition to guard and Rinehart still has sand in the vag.
