First off, I'm far from naive. I'm pretty sure after Obama's statement being plastered on the front page of Fox News' website and played throughout the day on the conservative talk shows and other media, the last thing Obama will do is sign a bill with the FD in it or enact it through the Executive Branch. Whether it's called the Fairness Doctrine, the "Bunny Rabbit" doctrine or the "I think it's funny a chimpanzee killed a lady" doctrine, Obama taking the position against it stops the discussion in it's tracks for now. IMO Obama did the right thing and I'll step up and give the guy credit when he gets it right. If he flip-flops on it, I'll be the first to criticize him.
While the folks at Fox aren't part of the same right wing (or whatever wing) militia you belong to, most rational conservatives appreciate Fox's coverage compared to the NY Times, Wash Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.
