Ive been saying for months that Chicago (along with Tennessee and Minnesota) would be ideal destinations for Campbell. Not too familiar with Tampa Bay. Since theyre considered "finalists" in the bidding for Cutler, i doubt they would be willing to be part of a 3-way trade where they got Campbell.
Also, Smoots speculated/rumored trade of a 1st, Campbell and 2010 2nd/3rd for Cutler and their 2009 3rd rounder wouldnt be a bad trade for us if the reports about Cutlers alcohol problem were false.
Cutler would be a great franchise QB in the WCO if healthy... getting him that cheap (again, ignoring his alcohol concerns) would be a steal on our part. Franchise QBs are worth far more than what we'd be giving up. If Cutler can manage his diabetes responsibly, its worth taking the hit (of essentially just a first rounder this year) to have a position of perpetual instability locked up for the next decade.
Again, it all comes down to Cutlers management of his diabetes in my book. If he's being responsible with his personal health, then the alleged deal would be well worth it. If he's not, then he's not even worth a 2010 3rd rounder.
