Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

I'm torn about this Cutler thing. On one hand, he has the potential to be a once in a decade type of QB-talent wise. He's got the cannon, he's accurate, he's not afraid to take shots, he's got good mechanics, good footwork-all the goods. He could be a prick or maybe he's just a cocky 25 year old kid and will mature.

On the other hand, Campbell is the type of guy you want in the locker-room, a quiet leader who has been jerked around a little in his career by multiple coaches, multiple systems and in spite of it all has shown the ability to be a 10 year starter in the NFL.

But that's where the difference is. Campbell can be a 10 year starter, Cutler can be a 10 year star. Sure it would suck to give up this year's #1 pick and a pick next year but we've basically started cheating on Campbell out in the open now. Either way we're going to be QB shopping soon. Now that we are in it, we've got to make the deal because without it, we're going to set the franchise back another 5 years while we still seek that franchise QB.

The stability upside if we get Cutler is first, we're set at the most important position on the field for years to come. Second, if he's successful in '09 then Zorn will be here for a while, if not then you know Snyder will break the bank (again) for Shanahan and we're going to have him as coach for at least 5 years.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman
