That is the most moronic thing I've heard and only my illustrious Skins FO can give that sentiment to a greenhorn coach.
Pat Bowlen knows that hiring McDaniels is going to entail some growing pains and has probably accounted a grace period of more than two years to see it out. McDaniels has more than plenty of advantages with all of those high picks, good for him and the Broncos.

The Denver FO gave the keys to the car to a 30something coach and who went on to run the starting QB out of town. One thing is to have a moronic rich owner that has crazy tantrums every now and then, but another is to hand the keys to the franchise to a young coach and have this happen.
Put yourself in the shoes of a Denver fan, your team had a young talented QB, and the ownerships hires a new coach that wants to bring a career back up that had one season? That's idiotic. Funny thing that we complain that our team doesn't have a true GM, you think maybe Denver could have used a GM to tell McDaniels to slow down a bit?
