Re: My Draft Trade Proposal with New England. Feedback Needed!!!
I love the idea. Some will say that drafting Maualuga at 13th overall is a reach but, for a team like NE where their OL is pretty much set, there is greater value drafting such a talented LB. Versus our roster on the other hand, we should look to secure a 'top 5' (not all of the top ranked OTs fit our scheme) OT early. With Andre Smith's stock declining we may have to gamble drafting him with our first pick. If he's gone, we would possibly look to take top 5 talent DE Robert Ayers. I don't think the team would consider drafting Michael Crabtree if he's available. Malcolm Kelly and Crabtree are essentially the same... size, slow, hands, and hurt. This draft is plenty deep with capable LBs. Overrated Clay Matthews would be a dream come true at 34th overall but, I'm trying to be realistic here but Clint Sintim or Matthews should be available at the top of round 2. It may be more important what we do with our 5th round pick as supposed to the aquired 6th rounder (199th overall). I say draft a CB. How about Jackson State's Domonique Johnson.
1st round Andre Smith
2nd round Clay Matthews or Clint Sintim
5th round Domonique Johnson
-or-
1st round Robert Ayers
2nd round Jamon Meredith OT South Carolina
5th round Jason Williams Western Illinois
