If the player the Patriots want falls to 13 and we have been unable to trade up for Sanchez, maybe we can get the same deal. The Patriots offer was 300 pts short of the Jags spot based on the old draft value chart, but a close match to the skins pick. So if we're unable to trade for Sanchez, we may have a trade down partner as well.
Also, i'll throw another, less plausible, scenario out there:
The Lions select Stafford with the 1st overall pick and Michael Oher is on the board when we pick at 13, the Lions trade their other 1st and 2nd round pick to us (#20 and #33) for our 13, Fred Davis, and Ladell Betts. With those picks, along with our natural picks, the Skins first three rounds go as follows:
1, #20 (From Detroit) - William Beaty, OT, CONN
2, #33 (From Detroit) - Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech
3, #80 (Natural Pick) - Greg Toler, CB, St. Pauls
5, #150 (Natural Pick)- Antone Smith, RB, Florida State
6, #186 (Natural Pick)- Kaluka Maiava, OLB, USC
7, #243 (Natural Pick)- Edwin Williams, C, Maryland
Sunday evening, Marcus Washington is resigned and Jason Campbell receives a 3 year, 24M extension with 16M garaunteed.
