The thing was, if we really weren't considering keeping them, the cheapest way to separate from the contract would have been to not restructure at all, i.e. what we did with Moss. Randle El and Carter and Samuels...I expect them to pick up the options on all of them. If I had to guess one guy who is least likely to be here in 2010, I say Carter, if only because Orakpo should have his role in the defense by then.

I think you are right about Carter being a big if in 2011. That being said, purely from a football standpoint I think that the team would be better served keeping him over R-El. But a $7.25 option bonus is pretty steep to keep Carter around.
2010 better be uncapped or we are SCREWED. The defense will be Haynesworth, hall, orakpo and the draft picks. Although Brennan and Chase Daniels may be the Qbs! ha ha ha
