lol that's like bordering on child abuse? Shoes maybe. Paddle and belt I can get but a frying pan? Come on now.

I would only use spanking as an absolute last resort, depending on the situation. I'm a psychology major and time and time again teachers have told me what a detriment it is to spank your kids. Well I think it's a fine line you straddle between disciplining your kid with spanking and just hitting them because you're angry. I figure if you can spank effectively and its not you just lashing out at your kids cause you're stressed out, then spank them. It works if you know what you're doing. (I'm a product of it)

Personally I can't stand it when I see parents strong-arming their kids in the middle of a public area. Obviously you're not supposed to let the kid wild out but there are better ways to control your kid then dragging them and pulling them around by the arm. Pisses me off.

I was spanked as a kid but only my grandmother did it effectively to prove a point that I was being disciplined for doing something wrong and to command respect, thus as an adult, I respect my grandmother to the fullest.

My mom on the other hand liked to spank me in for.. Well.. Just being a kid. If I accidentally broke something or knocked over a drink. I'd get yelled at or potentially hit depending on where we were. She was also the strong-arming type in being that I would get yanked around if I wasn't moving at a speed that she wanted to, or if I was lagging behind, or her favorite thing for yanking me around for: roughhousing because it wasn't ladylike.

I'll never forget when I was in middle school and went to a bat mitzvah for a friend, I guess I was around 12 or 13. We were walking from the temple to the dining hall which was outside and i fell (don't ask how) and ripped a hole in the knee of my tights. Well I went to the bathroom to clean up and figured it's a ****ing big hole in the knee, they're no good now so I took them off and tossed them. At the end of the night when my mom realized I wasn't wearing them and asked what happened to them, I told her I got a run in them and threw them away and she backhanded me right in the car.

Needless to say, I love my mom but I don't like who she is as a person.
