The thing I don't get is why would the Vikes go after him? They don't need a guy who's going to take the chances that Brett is going to take. It makes a lot more sense to have Tavaris in there trying to manage games and occasionally trying to make big throws. It seems like Favre takes the opposite approach to a lot of games, with their running attack and D, they should be a team that controls the clock and wins 13-6 each week, if necessary, you add Favre and you'll probably put up 35 one week and then he'll throw 3 picks the next week.
This is a big risk for Minnesota.

It really is. Minnesota felt like they upgraded their QB position this year by bringing in Sage Rosenfels and having Tavaris with one more year under his belt. On that note, if you compare the combined numbers of Vikings' QBs last year with Favre's numbers last year, VERY similar. Both with 22 TDs, Favre with more picks, both with ratings of 81, and the Vikings actually won one more game than the Jets.
And Favre turns 40 this year. Whatever, Minnesota. Enjoy.
