I agree with the idea that we should try to get as much out of this draft as possible. This is one of the most talent-rich drafts in years, and the way I look at it, the sooner we get some talented young kids into Gibbs' and Williams' systems while those coaches are here, the better off this team and those young players will be over the 5-year window (hopefully) in which we will have the services of this coaching staff.

Like offiss said, you can have a busted draft in any year, so you can't concern yourself with that. I think you have to take what you can get in any draft, without relying too heavily on future draft picks. I see no problem with dealing Gardner, Trotter or Canidate and/or next year's first rounder, if it enables the Skins to get both Winslow and Taylor, and a solid pass rusher in the draft. The team's biggest areas of need would be filled for the foreseeable future-- long enough to maximize Gibbs' five year window of opportunity.

Gibbs himself has said he's not here to take his time building this team into a winner-- he expects to win now. Give the man what he needs as soon as possible, and let's get this "winning" thing underway!
