He did not do any jumps here (did a 36½-inch vertical and 10-2 long at the combine). He had a 4.05 short shuttle, an 11.13 long shuttle, a 6.90 three-cone drill and 16 reps. He would be a quality saftey and if we trade down and get a few picks we could get a steal in Randy Starks a DT from Maryland. Starks (6-3 1/8, 313) ran twice for 5.15 and 5.18. He added a 33-inch vertical, a 9-4 long jump, a 4.64 in the short shuttle and a 7.39 in the three-cone drill, he also owns the record for squat a Maryland. Personally I think he could be the next Kris Jenkins. Although, I still hope we take the safe bet and draft a feature all-pro in Sean Taylor, I would not be upset if we worked out a deal that would allow us to get Jones, Starks, or someone of their quality.

I mentioned a similar deal with New England and was crushed by the board for not getting enough. Realistically, if NE was willing to part with the 21, 32 and 56 pick in the draft for say the 5th and Ladell Betts I would make this deal happen and draft the following:
Sean Jones @ 21
Ben Watson @ 32
Chad Lavalis @ 56
This would solve 3 potential problems in my mind instead of one. Plus, we would not have the cap burden of a 5th choice and would be able to part ways with Chamberlin, freeing up that cash for a guy like Tony Brackens on a one year deal.
Sean Taylor is a stud for sure. But I think Sean Jones has pro bowl potential written all over him. Ben Watson is a Gibbs kinda guy. A transfer from Duke with a high Wonderlick. 4.4 speed with 25+ 225 reps. Chad Lavalis would be great in Williams rotation at DT. He is quick for a 310lb guy and has a nasty streak you want in a guy stopping up the middle and plugging the run.
The wild card in my "fantasy draft" is if I want Sean Jones over Jonathan Vilma. Vilma could replace Trotter nicely and give us the most athletic LB corps in the NFC. Iffy in this situation would continue to start at DB. I am leary on this tho because I worry about our defensive backfield the most when I think about the Eagles. But I would like Vilma or Jones at #21.
