Couch was a hell of a talent coming out of college, and how many players do you think may have failed in the NFL if they weren't put in the situation they fell into? Tom Brady? Kurt Warner? Both QBs. Both put into perhaps the greatest situations ever. Tom Brady on a strong offense, with a great defense. Kurt Warner had the ability to lob a ball 40 yards, Bruce or Holt would run under it.
I feel that Couch could start for KC starting next season, at safety. Probability? .05%
He's on a team that certainly has the offense to win, in turn making him look better. You play the Cheifs, you could get down quick, causing lots of passes, meaning lots of chances to INT. This is obvious to most everyone. If he's even close to the athelete he used to be, then he has a shot to make it. As far as mentally, that's yet to be seen. I personally believe Ryan Leaf may have been a good QB in the NFL if he were a bit older/mature when he came in. I think physically he was ready, mentally he fell apart. (that won't cause any riots here...)
