Offensive improvement is clearly the bigger need. But I don't think that necessarily means that we need to go out and break the bank in typical Snyder-fashion to get some offensive playmakers. I truly believe that the biggest problem with the offense this year (aside form Brunell) was the playcalling. I think that at the beginning of the year, Gibbs was looking to replicate the success he had in the past running the football, and he was hesitant to back off of that stance when things weren't working. I think he was working hard to validate the trade and subsequent blockbuster extension given to Portis, and he also wanted to prove that bringing in Brunell was the right move. Now that we are past that phase, I think Gibbs and Breaux will be more open to taking shots downfield and fixing the offensive problems that we experienced this past year.
