Patron is okay.. the blanco is nothing that great, neither is the anejo (the least and most aged of the group).. the reposado, the middle in the group actually is very good though
for my money there are many tequilas I'd take against those.. 1800 is close and at a lower price point
in the same price point, across the whole line, I'd take the don julio's in a heartbeat
drop down a few dollars and the sauze tres generaciones gives you more than the patron, easily
if you want to talk about a few more dollars than patron then we're on a diff subject
I've had damn near all of the top spirits there are (save a lot of them more than 70 a fifth) and consider myself a pretty decent tongue for fine spirits.. the only category I haven't gone pretty high end with against a decent spread is brandy/cognac.. but I've had a good handful at least
