It's far more likely that "aliens" be from other planets. As a biology teacher, I wouldn't call it "aliens," I'd call it other life forms out there - it could be micro-organims, or more complex organisms.

The reason it's more likely that life exists elsewhere, is that one only need to read about how infinitely large our own Milky Way galaxy is [I believe I read once we could not travel out of our own Milky Way galaxy in a humans lifetime if we traveled at the speed of light. And then consider how many other galaxies are out there [hundreds of thousands at least I believe I read].

The possiblity of other life out there is must definitely more likely than ghosts existing. In fact, scientists believe that ghosts that are seen by people are really your brain tricking yourself into seeing something. Scientifically speaking, you see with your "brain" and not your eyes. Your eyes are connected to your brain, of course, via nervous tissue; however, one can see things with their brain when their eyes are closed or are sleeping or even blind people see things in their mind. So yes, your mind can trick you when you're even awake to see something that isn't there [much like it does when you dream], especially if you've watched a lot of ghost shows, been scared by them, or been told by others that they seen a ghost [or heard some scary ghost stories by a camp fire - your mind gets trained and buys into that things can be seen that aren't there].

As far as if ghosts exist or not, I am undecided. Even my wife is convinced that she seen a ghost as a very very young child which was later explained to her that it was just her grandfather [deceased] as she described how it looked. But even young children, that can describe such things, are perhaps more resilient to being afraid of things not there [monsters under the bed or scary shows from t.v.]. So perhaps children are more likely to see ghosts, monsters, etc... than adults - ?

As far as this show being real. Where it is a real show, however, after watching it many many times it is evident that things occur off camera that are heard. Footsteps, rocks being throne at them, doors slamming, that are so easily faked by someone in the loop to make the show entertaining to those that are buying into it. And even if doors slamming is caught on tape, how easy would it to be to have someone pull a door shut really hard and not be seen?

There are simply too many things that could be faked that no one could disprove. Sulphur is smelled, and what viewer on t.v. could prove it wasn't? Someone says an ice pick fealing in the back of their eye was experienced, and who could say they did or didn't feel it? And by the way, who determined that smelling sulphur in an old building proves or disproves anything? When in history did smelling sulphur get connected to ghosts being there?

Equipment. Why is there such a need to use all this high tech equipment, that can pick up frequencies and waveforms both audio and video that people themselves can't pick up with their senses? Why such a need for this equipment? People think they've seen ghosts for years [mind tricking them or seeing what their eyes didn't see] in history before this equipment was available. So why would their be a need for anything other than a simple photographic camera or simple tape recorder to capture the same thing(s) [ghosts] ? The actual use of this high tech equipment to capture audio and video outside of the live human range only lends itself to picking up wavelengths, like radio waves (microwaves, ultraviolent waves, infrared waves, x-rays, the list goes on) is only picking up waves and wavelenghts that scientists already know exist everywhere. You may not have the radio on listening to it right now but rest assured that radio waves from local AM and FM stations are continually still completely filling the rooms of your house and moving through the room your in - just turn on a AM radio now and you'll see.

So can we prove ghosts exist? In my opinion, No, not until we can prove that your mind doesn't see things that aren't really there (like dreams while sleeping or hallucinations while awake) - good luck proving that one

So can we prove ghosts exist when using hi-tech equipment? In my opinion, No, not until we can prove that waves and wavelengths aren't really there (like x-rays, microwaves, fm radio waves, infrared waves, ultraviolet waves) in the rooms and places where the hi-tech equipment is being used - good luck proving that one too.
