it certainly does not hurt to ask high and settle lower than that expectation. why ask for what you think the street value is, when you might just find someone who was willing to give you more...

Gardner gets a bad rap, but has the skills to be a quality receiver. If the Skins are willing to part, they will get what they can for him...but he can still be a contributing factor to the offense.

Houshmandzadeh is nowhere near the receiver that Gardner is, and it would be a mistake to pick him up for the kind of money he's asking for. He's a 3 at best anywhere else in the league, even with the breakout half season he had in '04.

Not sure Muhammad is worth a 5 year deal, however he's played fairly consistently in Carolina for a bunch of no name QBs...
