Keeping it connected but taking one step away from pie for a second, my wife has recently started making spicy mashed sweet potatoes (via chipotle), and I just LOVE them.
With regard to pie, call me boring and/or traditional, but apple is my favorite . . . and I think this thread ought to be given the death sentence it deserves.
