In this mock, we trade down with Texas and pick up Will Smith, DE at #10.
Answer 3 questions for me-
1-In this scenario, would it be too much to hope that we would receive Texas' 2nd round pick also?
According to the trade value chart (http://www.nfldraftview.com/tvchart.html), the values would add up just about right if the Texans included the 8th pick in the 2nd round (#40 overall).

According to Mel Kiper's latest 2nd round projection (http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/columns...mel&id=1776794), there would be some starting-quality players available at positions of need for the Redskins with the #40 pick. These include LBs Karlos Dansby (Auburn), Daryl Smith (Georgia Tech), Courtney Watson (Notre Dame), Teddy Lehman (Oklahoma) and Michael Boulware (Florida State); DE Antwan Odom (Alabama) and DT Randy Starks (Maryland) might also be available.

I didn't watch a lot of college ball throughout the season, but based on what I did see in the bowl games (watching these two players in particular), and what I've read in various scouting reports, Udeze seems like a more well-rounded D-lineman, and a more consistent pass rush threat.

In this particular trade down scenario, I would select Udeze at #10, and pray that Starks is still available at #40 (possible, but I doubt it). Getting that duo could transform the D-line into a legitimate front-four against both the run and the pass.
