Wizards say Arenas had firearms in locker - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Well I'm a fairly new to the whole pro-guns thing, but come on... How long have you been living in DC? You know there's a gun ban here and why the hell did you bring them into the locker room?

Couldn't he have just gone directly to a police precinct and turned them in? But instead brings them to the locker room so that team security could turn them in to the police.

I mean the whole situation seems odd at best but there had to have been a cleaner way for Arenas to handle things than this.

Although with that said, I don't think he deserves a suspension. Maybe just a fine for breaking the NBA rules.
