i would think if he's been working with Bob Slowik the past few months, that he'd stick with him as DC (or more likely, assistant head coach - defense with Zimmer being defensive coordinator) then he'd stick with him a while.

my main "concern" is that with Shanahan and Slowik planning on running a 3-4 or a hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense, that we may not have the right personnel in our front 7. I don't think any of our linebackers would fit in a 3-4, although carter and Orakpo could slide to play OLB... but do any of our DL really fit the mold of 3-4 d-linemen?

rebuilding is going to take a lot longer if we're doing it on both sides of the ball.
