Fred Taylor had 63 carries this year. Portis next year will make $10 million if we keep him. If we used him in the same capacity as Fred Taylor then we'd be paying Portis $158,000 per carry. This year we payed him around $79,000 per carry. If he had gotten 300 carries we would have owed him $16,000 per carry. Of course in comparison the Patriots paid Fred Taylor $47,000 per carry this year (2 year contract $5 million with $3 million owed in 2009). Man all this math is making my head spin. I'm going to go dye my hair now.
