Are you serious? I would think it's pretty clear what he did with simple reasoning. What it means is that he sold his house and moved out of MA and when this special election was announced he registered his son's house as his address and thus be able to vote in the special elections.
To put it as plainly as it can get...Mitt Romney does not live in MA.
BTW, I still technically have VA residency and can vote there by simply registering my my friend's address as my address. I of course don't live in VA and haven't lived there for 9 years but if I wanted to I can vote there (note that it is illegal to vote in two different places).
