There is around a dozen QBs available that have the potential to become solid pros. I rather build a great line and then draft a kid from a second tier school than waste a first round pick and not properly address the o line. Our first two picks should be o linemen. Samuels and Thomas need to retire.
Then come out and say that. No need to go into how important hand size is. I've seen it before, some people would just rather have Okung so any imperfection of other potential prospects gets blown up.

By the way which teams that have won the Super Bowl as of late had a dominant O-Line with multiple first rounders?

I've said this before but it's worth repeating. We had two bookend Tackles from 2000-early 2008 and a record below .500. In the end if Shanahan comes away thinking that Bradford or Clausen is a franchise QB we HAVE to take him.

History says no. If you luck out then in 2 or 3 years you MIGHT get Matt Schuab (a third rounder btw) but chances are you'll end up with Charlie Frye and thats if you get a hit.

It's wrong to patronize the draft a QB crowd (a crowd that I am not exactly a part of) with "oh you could still get your QB after round 1" The QB crowd would have a much easier time turning around and telling you that we could easily find a great tackle in round 4. In part because the starting LT of the Super Bowl champions is a 4th round draft pick as is the best guard in the game.

One more thing directed towards the "don't draft a QB crowd." What were your thoughts on the QB we drafted in 2005 on draft day?
