I wouldnt say overrated, at one point he was one of the best midfielders in the world.

Now he is a decent player, but not much more than that. He also sells jerseys. Any soccer fan would not rate him highly. Its the causal fan that would do that, just because they dont know good soccer players the likes of Rooney, Messi, Eto'o, Drogba, etc.

Like I mentioned before, he is like Jordan well past his prime.
