Re: Top Players in the 2010 Draft
I felt like with all this QB drama I should take a few hours and just watch all the video I could on the top prospects. Here is what I've decided.
#1. Jimmy Clausen: I watched 4 full games and lots of highlight videos of this kid. I must say he really impressed me. It's a completely different thing when you see a full game video, and the way he handles pressure and is able to extend plays is next to nothing. He has a decent arm and you could tell that the power on the ball was much slower in deep passes, but still nothing too question. Great acuracy and the only issue I think that will affect him is that he's always looking to his #1 receiver on the right and sometimes you'll see a wide open TE or #2 WR, and he'll still throw into coverage (and usually get's through it). *Watch the Washington vs. ND game to understand.
#2. I would put Tim Tebow here, but I just can't lol.. I'll keep this empty because it's impossible to neglect how much success he had in college and even if his game won't translate, he should be here.
#3. Sam Bradford: I find most of his throws are always to wide open receivers? I don't really understand how this is, but they are ALWAYS open?! Other than that, he has great accuracy there is no doubt about it but also didn't have to deal with pressure. He seems to take his time, drop back a bit check all his receivers and then throw. These alone brought him down, but I still think with the amount of yards he managed to put up in 08-09, he'll be successful.
Anyways, after doing this I feel much less worried about who we pick with #4. I hope it's Clausen at this point and we let the Rams ruin the potential Bradford could have.
