Re: Haynesworth back to the Titans?

Now this from Jason Reid:

Redskins actively seek to trade Albert Haynesworth

Despite recently cutting one of the largest checks in NFL history to pay defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth's bonus, the Redskins are actively attempting to trade him before the April 22 draft, people familiar with the situation said Tuesday.

Coach Mike Shanahan has instructed General Manager Bruce Allen to identify potential destinations for Haynesworth, to whom the Redskins paid a $21 million bonus on April 1, and the Redskins have talked with multiple teams about the eight-year veteran. The Redskins did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans - whom Haynesworth left to join the Redskins before the 2009 season for $41 million guaranteed - are among the teams that could be interested in acquiring Haynesworth. In his first season in Washington last season, Haynesworth was slowed by injuries and not in top physical condition.

During their pursuit of quarterback Donovan McNabb, the Redskins included Haynesworth in trade talks with the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington acquired McNabb for a second-round pick this season and either a third- or fourth-round pick, based on McNabb's performance during this season, in the 2011 draft.

Shanahan's desire to excise Haynesworth from the roster stems from Haynesworth's reluctance to play nose tackle in the Redskins' new 3-4 scheme and his decision to train individually instead of participating in the voluntary offseason conditioning program at Redskins Park. Although Haynesworth only appeared in 12 games last season, he participated in the second-highest total of plays among Redskins defensive linemen.

In the first 14 months of his contract, Haynesworth has been paid $32 million. Under the terms of his contract, Haynesworth is guaranteed another $9 million.
