I guess most people had hope at the beginning -- personally, my optimism for him faded faster than others. I always had some leeway for him because the receivers were suspect, and the O-line by late 2008 and throughout '09 end gave him no chance.
So I sort of wanted to call out all those people who argued practically to the death that JC is the QB the future, that he just needs one more chance. But I won't.
As for the "respect" that he is due? Well ... he seemed like a nice fella.
How about that?

It's only natural for people to have hope and optimism early on. Good for you if you "figured it out" quicker than others. If this told you so moment makes you feel better go for it, I'm sure you've never been wrong on things before.
Who knows really, under different conditions things might have worked out better for JC. In the end though he's a solid QB, not a bum as some want to make him out to be. Will he ever be a franchise guy? Probably not. But can he be a solid starter under more stable conditions than what has been the Washington Redskins during the Snyder/Cerrato era? I think so.
