Joe Gibbs was probably the most respected HC the Redskins have ever had. Not only that, a coach that has actually accomplished something with the organization. He had a situation with Sean Taylor one off-season very reminiscent to what we're seeing now with Haynesworth, Sean refused to even return Gibbs's calls but he didn't hold a grudge against him because he wasn't here, he continued to show him the utmost respect, and it was never more evident than in his passing.

Shanahan so far has done absolutely nothing for the Redskins, while I respect what he has accomplished elsewhere we're riding a hope that his previous success will translate to Washington. If the best HC we've ever had has the know-how to deal with sometimes uncooperative players without creating a frenzy, Shanahan should be able to do the same. I can understand what he's trying to accomplish but there may be a better way of going about it.
