It's more of a big picture thing. Vinny wouldn't have had the smarts to deal and maneuver like Allen and Shanahan have this offseason and we would likely be looking at a completely different scenario surrounding the team. By the way we already know that Vinny wouldn't have drafted Berry.
I'm 100% sure that if Vinny was the GM he would have drafted Clausen which is fine. However given Vinny's reputation around the league it's likely he wouldn't have been able to attract a post-Zorn coaching staff capable of developing him.
I mean isn't that a big reason why Snyder had Vinny "resign," because he started to see that no reputable coach wanted to work for the Redskins with Vinny picking and backstabbing his way around town?
The way Shanahan and Allen have run this team from top to bottom, from the workouts to acquiring players has been nothing short of spectacular. With that said only way to get us on board with the possible Berry pick is to find a way to still bring in a quality tackle weather it be Jamaal Brown or some other equivalent.
So yes when you isolate the scenario of the Vinny picking Berry then you would probably see people grabbing pitchforks opposed to Allen and Shanahan where people at this point are much more willing to go along with the teams braintrust. Of course I must concede that a good part of that is goodwill from being the ones that made Snyder comfortable enough to go with someone else besides Vinny.
