You forgot Fred Davis and Cooley as well...that is 6 Potential Receivers and a QB...our line cant block anyways...so just keep 4 in to block!...heck....last year they were essentially blocking with the equivelant of 3 decent linemen and 2 HOV lane dummies....flipping it to Westbrook would easily slow down the pass rush...now if only Westbrook could teach Portis how to release and catch well..we'd be set.
But as much as some of you guys think Parker is out...there is a distinct possibility that Westbrook could be brought in to "teach" parker on how to catch from the backfield like Westbrook did...i know Parkers speed is not that great but he still has flashes that Portis and Johnson do not have that are neccessary when catching a 2 yard pass out of the backfield.
The reality is that it would be highly unlikely that Westbrook would join the Skins for nothing more than a small shot at the 3rd RB role...why on earth would he want that?
Only 2 reasons....McNabb, and revenge on the Eagles for releasing him...and as someone else pointed out...they cut Dawkins too soon.... I am sure McNAbb and especially Westbrook are out to prove to the Eagles that they bailed on their stars a bit too early...that is REALLY motivating.
Keep in mind that Westbrook knows his top performance capability would come with McNabb since they can play catch with their eyes closed.
Outside of emotional reasons though...there is no legit business sense for Westbrook to join the Skins and we certainly aren't going to pay him high $.
He's got to make money...he is a year or two max from retirement...he's lucky to be playing this year if he can pull it off...concussions are scary
If he joins...I'd be thrilled....just not holding my breath.
He'd be a great fit considering all the factors.
